We’re interested in records that have something of their own. Not because they follow a particular sound, but because something in them makes you stop and listen again. It might be a detail, an unexpected idea or simply a way of putting things together that we haven’t heard quite like before.
The person behind the music matters too. Not the size of their audience or how polished their image is, but whether there is intention behind what they make and something genuine to build around. We care about the whole picture: the sound, the image and the world around the record. It doesn’t need to arrive fully formed, but it should have a point of view.
